Christian democrats organize 6th founding congress in Minsk
Another founding congress of the Belarusian Christian Democratic Party was held at the hotel Victoria in Minsk on December 12, BelaPAN reports. It was the sixth founding congress held by the party that wants to be officially registered in Belarus.
56 delegates representing 20 founders each took part in the congress. The official party name, program and statute and the national BCD assembly were approved there. The registration documents will be sent to the Ministry of Justice next week, BCD co-chairperson Pavel Sevyarynets said.
The delegates adopted a resolution announcing the presidential election of 2015 to be rigged. The resolution is based on the materials collected by observers from the campaign Right of Choice-2015.
The first BCD founding congress was held in 2009 and the fifth one was on June 5, 2015. The Ministry of Justice did not register the party explaining it by the fact that two founders had refused from their signatures and by some minor inaccuracy that could not be the reason for the refusal, BCD representatives think.
“BCD will probably never be registered,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka told The Washington Post in March 2011.
