"Concert on the grass" = "home concert outside"

"Shabli" farmstead has become a meeting point for the Belarusian musicians and fans of open air rest once again last week-end. Announced bands The Silicon, Akute, Vincent and "Ў", as well as not announced Botanic Projekt, came to the "Concert on the Grass-2". The idea to cheer the Minskers up with the help of music and nature inspired not only the audience, but the musicians as well.

Rapper Vincent, whose live performance cheered up and promised brighter future once again, is convinced that "Concerts of the Grass" will teach Belarusians to rest in the right way.

Vincent: “I think this is a brilliant idea, as we need to teach our population to rest like this. I mean, to go outside, to listen to some music, to rest actively, to play football, or ping-pong. I am totally for such type of rest. This is like a home concert, but outside. And it is always a joy for the musicians to come and play in such a place, to have a rest. This is good. Nature, fresh air, all of us get united with this place and feel our roots”.

Besides, the musicians promised to play new songs at the "Concert on the Grass-2", and they kept their promise. Moreover, three of five bands will present new albums to their fans in the near future. Vincent plans to start recording this Autumn. However, not all the recorded tracks will appear on the CD.

Vincent: “This CD will differ from my previous works by sound in the first place, and I think it will be more interesting with regards to lyrics as well. The lyrics will be checked upon some newly elaborated standards, there will be selection. I plan to record 20 tracks, and to include 12-13 of them into the new album”.

The only Belarusian surf-rock band — The Silicon, whose music created for open-air gigs, — also have some "album plans" for the Autumn: they plan to record a more popular and professional album. Now they are enjoying the idea of the "Concerts on the Grass".

Zmitser Paplauski “Our format fits open-air gigs perfectly, as we play interesting, elergetic, beautiful music. Moreover, all the other bands which played there fit this open-air format too. Naturally, this is an excellent idea. It is good that there are people who can spend their own money to organize something like this, so that at least something would happen in this country. As this Summer is a real dead season in Minsk and in Belarus on the whole. And here everyone is happy, singing songs, resting”.

A band of high promise from Mahileu Akute. also played some new songs at the "Concert on the Grass-2". The musicians have just presented their debut album “Girls and Space”, but they've started thinking about the second album already.

Akute: “We are actively presenting new songs which we have prepared for the new album. We also play "Girls and Space" and about a dozen new songs”.

Akute are going to make presentation of the "Girls and Space", as well as new tracks, at this year's "Basovishcha" festival.

Akute: “I would say we are more of a club band. It is easier for us to create an Akute atmosphere in a club. At events like this, people dance, rest, so positive bands like Botanic Projekt will be perceived better. But that doesn't mean we cannot play here. Why not?”

Botanic Projekt indeed created an atmosphere of a natural open-air, while the band "Ў" closed the holiday with a song about the unique letter “Ў”. However, the holiday of freedom was not over on that. English songs to the guitar could be heard all around Shabli till the sunrise. New generation came to the grass.
