Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW) has detained two people for activities in the interests of Belarusian special services.
The individuals in question are a 19-year-old Belarusian and a 44-year-old Pole, according to Jacek Dobrzyński, press secretary to the minister-coordinator of the special services, as reported by Onet.
Acting on the orders of Belarusian special services, the detainees participated in events organized by the Belarusian minority in Warsaw. They recorded and photographed participants, for which they received payment from the special services.
Dobrzyński specified that the detainees had been operating since at least last autumn. The Belarusian, he said, is 19 years old, was in Poland legally, and worked as a waiter.
"The materials collected and passed across the eastern border were used by Lukashenko's services and the regime's propaganda. By court order, the Belarusian will spend the next 3 months in pre-trial detention. The Pole had his passport confiscated, was banned from leaving the country, and placed under police supervision", Dobrzyński commented.
The investigation is being conducted by the Rzeszów branch of the ABW and the Lublin branch of the National Prosecutor's Office.
Notably, in November 2025, ABW officers detained three Belarusians and two Ukrainians on the same charges. As journalists note, further detentions may follow.
