EU-Belarus visa agreements may be ready by end of 2014
EU Ambassador to Belarus Maira Mora told BelaPAN about it.
She reminded that the negotiations had already started. The first meeting was held in Brussels and the second one is appointed for April in Minsk. “It is necessary to understand that this is a long process and Belarus has expressed a desire to reach a result too. I am optimistic,” Ms. Mora said.
The cost of Schengen visas will be lowered for Belarusians as a result of the agreements, the EU Ambassador to Belarus noted. Belarusians receive the biggest number of Schengen visas and have the lowest refusal percent in the world, she added.
Belarus is the only member of the Eastern Partnership where citizens have to pay €60 instead of €35 for a Schengen visa.
