Ex-Mayor of Homel Pilipets is released early
Ex-Mayor of Homel Victar Pilipets has been released early, Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus reports. The edition is referring to a source in the police. Pilipets was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property for ‘power or authority abuse’ (apartment machinations) in April 2014. However, he was released from Babruisk colony #2 at the end of 2015.
The ex-Mayor of Homel spent 3 years in prison (including the investigation period). “There were two amnesties and he was released,” the source noted.
