Fair World does not agree to single candidate
The Belarusian party of the left will not sign the last variant of the procedure of choosing the single opposition candidate.
The same decision made by the United Civil Party makes it impossible to choose the single opposition candidate that could represent the country’s democratic forces.
The party Fair World thinks that it may take part in the Congress of Democratic Forces only if all the provisions of the pre-election programme and scenarios of the opposition’s participation in the elecion-2015 are discussed in advance.
The party’s central committee bureau made the decision in Minsk on November 29, party leader Syarhei Kalyakin told BelaPAN. The fact that delegates will be chosen with the help of the collection of signatures is inadmissible for the party, he explained.
The document will be signed by the Social-Democratic Party (Hramada), Movement For Freedom, campaign Tell the Truth, BPF Party and the steering committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy. Two more structures will take part in the negotiations: the UCP and the Fair World that have refused to sign the document. Thus, it is impossible to choose the single opposition candidate at the moment.
