Korona supermarket: We do not and will not sell St. George ribbons

On September 29 information about this scandal appeared on tut.by information portal with reference to the social networks. According to the material, on September 26 Alena from Minsk acquired a package of St. George ribbons at the Karona which is a part of Zamak mall. However, at the exit of the shopping center a man snatched the ribbon from the child, pushing it hard. A fight broke out resulting in Alena hitting the guy strong and getting along with him to the Central police station - stated in the article.

Neither the guy's or the girl's name were mentioned. Both the link to post in facebook and a screenshot of the message are missing.

"Unfortunately, we do not sell St. George ribbons. And we do not have plans to stack them up," Euroradio was told at the Karona information center, referred to in the scandalous publication.

The press service of Minsk Central district police department, where according to publication Alena was delivered, together with the child and the hater of St. George ribbons struck by her, had no information about this either. And the Investigative Committee of Belarus even made an official statement saying that they did not have any information about the incident.

Tut.by owner Yury Ziser in response to criticism of the article about an attack on a child with St. George's ribbon which had erupted in social networks promised to soon publish a clarification with the details of history. However, this has not yet occurred.

Editor of the portal Maryna Zolatava also commented on the situation. "I admit a mistake: the journalist, the editor and editor in chief who overlooked it. Firstly, neither the title nor the lead had reference to the source of information (as defined in the note, the author of the post removed it after our publication because of aggressive comments), and secondly, we did not wait for the official commentary. WE are following this topic, it will be continued," wrote Zolatava on Facebook.
