Kurmanbek Bakiyev presents memoirs in Minsk
Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev presented his book Pain, Love and Hope: My Kyrgyzstan in Minsk hotel Victoria.
Bakiyev described his life and the time when he ruled Kyrgyzstan (2005-2010) in the book. “The book is meant for a wide range of readers,” the annotation says.
He started writing the book in November 2014 and it was finished in the summer of 2015, Bakiyev said. The ex-President of Kyrgyzstan did not publish it because it was the time of parliamentary elections in his country. “I did not want them to say that I was going to interfere,” BELTA quotes Bakiyev. He led a quiet life in the last five years and did not communicate with mass media, Bakiyev noted.
The book is out in two languages – Russian and Kyrgyz. 2000 copies have been printed in Russia.
