Lazavik: Crimeans expressed their will, they need to be listened to
The referendum in Crimea is more legitimate than the new Ukraine's government formed 'under armed pressure' of Maidan, says Secretary of Belarus CEC.
Mikalai Lazavik has commented on the results of 'the Crimean referendum' for Euroradio.
Lazavik: “If we recognize the legitimacy of the government created in Kiev in an obscure way under the pressure of armed forces, the Crimean referendum seems more democratic, humane and legitimate to me.”
The US, EU and Turkey said they would not recognize the results of the Crimean referendum held on March 16. It would be strange to see the people say ‘yes’ and the outer world to say ‘no’, the Belarusian official reckons. It is necessary to listen to the people’s will, he noted.
