While monuments to Lenin are being removed in Ukraine, Belarus is installing them. A huge monument to the leader of the revolution was installed near school #84 in the microdistrict Uruchcha in Minsk the other day.
The festive opening is appointed for May 19 – the Day of Pioneers’ Friendship, the headmistress Iryna Karpovich told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
There have never been any monuments near the school although it was built 77 years ago, the headmistress said. The monument to Lenin used to stand in 120th Division Heroes Street for many years. However, the part of the street has been reconstructed and an intersection has been built there. That is why the monument has been removed.
It was ordered to install the monument created in the 1950s near the school.
