Nikolai Lukashenko graduated from Peking University. On June 30, a diploma ceremony was held in Beijing for graduates of the first joint Belarusian-Chinese educational program in the field of "Biotechnology".
Alexander Lukashenko was present at the ceremony alongside his youngest son.
Prior to that, Lukashenko Sr. met with the leadership of Peking University. He also came to that meeting with his youngest son.
By all appearances, his current official visit to China was organized in part to witness Nikolai receiving his diploma.
Who is Nikolai
Nikolai Lukashenko is Alexander Lukashenko's son, born out of wedlock in 2004. He is widely believed to be the son of Iryna Abelskaya, Lukashenko’s personal physician at the time, although her maternity has never been officially acknowledged.
Nikolai first appeared in public alongside his father in 2008 and has since frequently accompanied him on official trips and at high-level meetings. In 2011, at the age of six, he visited the Kastryčnickaja metro station in Minsk with his father just hours after a deadly bombing, before all of the victims' bodies had been removed.
In 2020, amid mass protests in Belarus, Nikolai appeared alongside his father on the grounds of the Independence Palace in Minsk, wearing body armor and carrying an assault rifle.
