Lukashenka promises Poroshenko to supply Ukraine with oil products
On Monday, 4 August, leaders of Belarus and Ukraine spoke on the phone.
According to BELTA, Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Petro Poroshenko discussed trade relations between the countries, "other topical issues of bilateral cooperation" and interaction within the Customs Union. Particular attention was paid to oil supplies from Belarus to Ukraine. Lukashenka said that despite domestic needs (primarily harvesting campaign) our country will assist Ukraine in ensuring its economy has oil products.
The statement of Petro Poroshenko's press office misses the oil topic, draws attention to the discussion of the elimination of "artificial barriers in mutual trade." Ukrainian President thanked Lukashenka for facilitating the July 31 tripartite meeting of contact group in Minsk held to resolve the situation in Donbas.
