Lukashenka reminds Putin about Pskov, Smolensk and Bryansk Oblasts
The Belarusian President has organised a press conference for Russian regional mass media today. It is being held in the National Library in Minsk.
Commenting on the idea that Russia may decide to annex part of Belarus after Ukraine, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that it was ‘utter falsehood’.
The state leader also recalled the moment when he had joked at Vladimir Putin. Pskov, Smolensk and Bryansk Oblasts used to belong to Belarus, he told him. “You will have to share them with us! ” Lukashenka told Putin. It was a joke, he stressed. Belarus lays no claim to these lands now.
