National Congress organizing committee transfers powers to BNC Council
A constituent assembly of the Belarusian National Congress has been held in Minsk. The organizers conducted it near the monument of Yanka Kupala because they had not been allowed to rent any hall.
About 100-150 people took part in the meeting that lasted for about an hour. The delegates adopted the statement “State of the Country and Nation” and a reform platform. They also adopted the statement on the consolidation of democratic forces.
The assembly participants decided to transfer the powers of the organizing committee of the Belarusian National Congress (BNC) to the BNC Council. Representatives of the Belarusian provinces will be included in it, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu said.
