No plans for Belavia to change routes of its Egypt bound planes
Belavia representative noted that only transit planes of European airlines passing over the Sinai Peninsula, for example, from Europe to India, Thailand, Singapore have been changed. Direct flights from Europe to Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and other Egyptian cities will be carried out by the airlines, including Belavia using the old route that does not have the plaines pass over the Sinai Peninsula.
Previously, Belavia expressed its deep condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the people who died on flight 9268. On October 31, the A321 aircraft of Russian airline Kogalymavia crashed about half an hour after departure, 100 km south of the provincial capital of North Sinai town of El Arish near the village of Al-Hosni. It was flight 9268 Sharm el-Sheikh - Saint Petersburg. The plane was carrying a total of 217 passengers and seven crew members. According to the Egyptian authorities, there were no survivors. Most of the passengers were Russians. On board were also some Ukrainians and Belarusians.
