Norway triples salmon export to Belarus
Norwegian salmon and trout are being exported to Belarus and the Baltic states in connection with the Russian sanctions.
They get a new customs code after processing which allows exporting them to Russia, interfax.by reports referring to the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Naeringsliv. Thus, the export of Norwegian salmon to Belarus tripled on September 1-7.
Norway decreased the export of seafood to Russia by 82% in connection with August 2013. It happened due to the introduction of Russia’s import ban. At the same time, supplies of Norwegian salmon abroad went up by 11%.
