Pavement ads to be put under control in Belarus
Pavement advertising will be put under control in Belarus soon, deputy Minister of Trade Iryna Narkevich announced. An appeal for ‘stocktaking’ will be sent to local authorities and other state institutions soon. Advertisements that do not correspond to the existing legislation must disappear, BELTA reports.
‘A lot of illegal pavement advertisements’ have appeared in Belarusian cities recently. The Ministry of Trade has warned enterprises and public catering objects that they need to get permissions for advertisements.
The problem of pavement ads has become acute in Minsk. It was discussed by the City Executive Committee in October. Pavement ads spoil the look of Minsk streets and violate the law, officials concluded. Illegal ads need to be removed and their creators should be called to account. The first administrative cases were started in November.
