Putin announces sudden checkup at Eastern Military District
Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu says the president has ordered to check the combat readiness of Russian troops in the Far East.
Shoigu has ordered to bring the troops and the military administration to training grounds. They will be preparing for a military exercise there, RBK reports.
Part of the aviation of the Central Military District will be sent to the Far East to strengthen its aviation, the Ministry of Defence ordered.
The Ministry of Defence has also ordered to cheek civilian institutions’ readiness to fulfil military tasks. The Ministries of Industrial Trade, Communications, Transport, Rospechat, Rossvyaz, Rosaviation, Rosautoradar and others will be checked.
It is not the first okrug check-up in Russia. The Central Military Okrug troops were suddenly checked at the end of June. Over 65 thousand servicemen took part in it.
