Alyaksandr Lukashenka awards Nadzeya Astapchuk (video)
The state leader has met Belarusian champions and medal winners of the London Olympics this Thursday.
According to BelTA, he has presented state awards, acceded honorary ranks and expressed his gratitude to the sportsmen. Let us note that shot putter Nadzeya Astapchuk has been awarded together with everyone else. The International Olympic Committee stripped her of her medal after a dope scandal.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka awarded Astapchuk with the Third-class Order of the Fatherland. She was called "a gold medal winner in track and field athletics".
Let us remind you that Belarus is investigating "Astapchuk's case" now. A decision about further actions will be taken after it.
