Ancient custom "Burying the Arrow" takes place in Vetka district (photo)
This ancient celebration of the beginning of Summer took place in the villages near Sozh river, including a village called Staubun.
Normally, only women participate in this custom - they sing, reel and then go to the rye field where they bury metallic objects and tie small bundles of spikes.
The holiday symbolizes the beginning of Summer and the villagers' hope for a good harvest.
