Associate professor of Mahilyou State Food University is fired
Pyotr Mihurski thinks that the dismissal was supposed to take place a bit earlier than February but the law did not allow it.
Pyotr Mihurski, an associate professor of Mahilyou State Food University, candidate of economic sciences, has been unemployed since the beginning of February. The activist of the BPF movement "Revival" was a representative of presidential candidate Nyaklyayeu during the recent election campaign. He supported a number of independent candidates while collecting signatures – Nyaklyayeu, Sannikau, Rymasheuski and Kastusyou. The teacher had to face the choice: “we should either work at a higher educational institution or be engaged in politics”, informs the human rights centre “Vyasna”.
"As far as I understood,it was an order of a higher authority,” - said Mihurski. “I cannot blame the university administration for anything – they were made to dismiss me”.
By the way, the rector of the university the democratic activist used to work at was also engaged in politics during the election – he was a representative of presidential candidate Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
