Belarus asks IMF for stabilization credit
The government and the National Bank have sent a corresponding application on May 31.
Consultations on the corresponding program of actions of the Belarusian Government and the National Bank will be conducted in the framework of the IMF's mission. It will start working in Belarus on June 1, 2011, BELTA states.
The mission is to consider issues of the current economic situation in the country. Measures which are taken by the Government and the National Bank to make the situation at the internal currency market stable will also be discussed. Also, the IMF's mission will decide on the possibility to support the macro-economic policy, realised in Belarus. The work of the IMF's mission in Belarus will be completed by June 14.
