Belarus does not recognize UN resolution on human rights
Official Minsk slams UN for interfering with internal affairs.
On November
20, the Belarusian delegation at the 67th session of the UN General Assembly
stated that Belarus did not recognize the resolution on the report of the UN
Human Rights Council.
Advisor in Belarus Permanent Representation in the UN Larysa Belskaya
underlined that this was the principal decision of the official Minsk. She
stated the fact that the Human Rights Council established the mandate of a
special rapporteur on Belarus this July as a ground. According to Belskaya,
these decisions, forced upon the Council by the EU member states, purposefully
deform the situation with human rights in our country and are aimed at interference
into Belarus' internal affairs.
Nevertheless, Belarus' representative also stated that our country wanted to
continue constructive cooperation with the Council and its issue-related
special procedures.
