Central Elections Commission confirms that ballots are burned
CEC commented upon the Ivatsevichy incident, where the special services representatives were seen burning last election's ballots.
Radio Racyja has informed about burning of packages with ballots at the boiler-station of Ivatsevichy "Water-Channel". They were delivered by a mini-bus and burned by the special forces representatives for two hours.
Euroradio has addressed to the Central Elections Commission for a comment. They have said they know nothing about it but that there is nothing weird in this incident:
“We store the ballots for 6 months. After that they are destroyed, in accordance with the CEC regulation. All ballots, in all types of elections. Moreover, it is stated that the ballots are destroyed by burning or chopping”.
