Constitution Day in Belarus
The first Fundamental Law of the Republic of Belarus was adopted 19 years ago – in 1994.
The Constitution was adopted by the Supreme Council headed by speaker Mechyslau Hryb. He signed the document.
The Constitution was changed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka in 1996. The president received more rights and restricted the power of the Parliament a lot.
