However, their fans were not satisfied anyway: “Couldn’t he stay for a bit longer?!”

A charter flight from Paris landed in the airport “Misnk-2” on the evening of June 1. The France national football team arrived. The French will play with the Belarusian team in a selection match of the European Championship in Minsk stadium “Dinamo” on June 3.

 

The Belarusian national team celebrated a sensational victory in “Stade de France” in autumn – 1:0. Of course, the French remember it.  They are eager to take renege. Probably, that is why the football players did not say much. They only thing Franck Ribéry said to Euroradio was “Thank you, but I would not like to answer any questions…”

 

However, the few Belarusians who came to meet the France national team really went to town.

 

“I cannot say that I am a fan of the French team, - said a man who was over 40 years old. – We can come to support certain players. Our favourite players? I think that we have come to look at Benzema”.

There were only two people wearing France football shirts: a guy and a girl.

 

“To tell the truth, I became a fan of the French team in Zidan’s time”, - said the guy.

“In 1998”, — specified the girl.

“I fact, I did not know that France was the world champion when I became its fan. So we did not start supporting them only because they won” – confessed the guy.
