Grybauskaitė claims Lithuania is interested in Belarus being independent
The Lithuanian leader has made this statement during today's speech in the Seimas. She presented an annual report there.
Speaking about the foreign policy, Dalia Grybauskaitė has noted that stable neighbourhood has a great importance for the security of Lithuania, informs DELFI.
In this context she has spoken separately on Belarus, saying that the independent Belarus was the interest of Lithuania. Grybauskaitė has said: "I have always stood for the dialogue and cooperation with the neighbours and I will always do this in the future. However, this doesn't mean that we should tolerate the behaviour which is directed to violation of democratic principles and human rights".
The President's annual reports about the state of affairs in Lithuania, about the interior and foreign policy are prescribed by the country's Constitution.
