MFA: EU states ambassadors are not personas non grata in Belarus
However, the Belarusian authorities consider their return untimely.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Savinykh has stated this on March 24 when he commented the report shown on the Euronews TV-Channel. It was claimed in the report that the European Ambassadors had been declared personas non grata.
Savinykh has said that this is an absolutely incorrect interpretation of the situation. The EU countries called their ambassadors back from Belarus due to their own initiative, and, taking into consideration the newly taken decision to expand the sanctions, their return would be untimely, the MFA's representative has noted.
Andrei Savinykh has also underlined that if the European Union finds the way to the constructive dialogue, the official Minsk will be ready to see the ambassadors in Belarus.
