Paval Sieviarynets: "The situation is complicated: people are in prisons, economy is falling apart, independence is in jeopardy. If we don't change the system, we are in danger of loosing the country. However, we need to change ourselves in order to change the system. December 19 events revealed our mistakes."
According to the politician, it is illegal to convict people for a peaceful demonstration. However, the sentence does not suppress Paval, he says that there are people who are in a worse situation. He is going to attend other "Square" court trials today, and to go to the church at last.
Paval Sieviarynets: "The most horrible torture for me in the KGB prison was when they did not let a priest visit me, so I couldn't confess and take holy communion for nearly 5 months".
