RockerJoker rehearse lyrical program with pop sound (photo, video)
For this, the musicians will change the name, gathered a blues big-band, and sent the accordion and the ukulele to the background.
In the beginning of this year, the alco-boogie-band RockerJoker decided to celebrate their second birthday by presenting 7 songs in the expanded squad. Guitarist and contrabass player of the band "Silver Wedding" Zmitser Haurylik, Artsyom Haurushyn and keybord palyer Max Ivashyn joined Mikhei Nasarohau and Max Siry at the concert in Graffiti club then.
However, the musicians decided not to stop the experiments on that - they have invited a drummer and now they are actively rehearsing a totally new program.
"Max and I took the responsibility for this decision, - Mikhei Nasarohau shares the new approach to the selection of songs. - We want to try to make a beautiful and well-arranged program without provocations or any sharp things, to try to make it a format and interesting one. We don't know whether it will radically differ from the RockerJoker, but there will probably be more love lyrics and things like that".
Mikhei adds that they want to get closer to the high-quality pop sound but they doubt that they will manage to achieve this. Nevertheless, all musicians are dealing with arrangements now, it's not like someone comes with a song and orders how to play it. The usual ukulele and accordion got to the background. Therefore, the sound reminds a classical blues big-band without the brass instruments, the musicians think.
However, the musicians are facing a new question now - should they keep the name RockerJoker for the new squad?
"We have invited many, in our view, good and self-sustained musicians, whose input into the new project is not smaller than ours, therefore, this is not the RockerJoker anymore in any case, - Max Siry explains the situation , while Mikhei Nasarohau adds. - We summoned a squad with a clear aim - to show our audience something like this. We simply had a certain quantity of preliminary works and drafts, which we did not dare to finish by the two of us, Max and I. However, in the process there occurred a question of sense of the collective's existence. It should be justified, while "RockerJoker expanded squad"- this is something not exactly clear".
Nevertheless, the duet Nasarohau-Siry works simultaneously, moreover, the guys are working on the materials for the RockerJoker. The musicians assure that no one speaks about closing of the alco-boogie project so far. However, they have not invented a name for the expanded squad yet, like, nothing has come to into their ears so far.
During the rehearsal at the "OSMOS" studio, which Euroradio managed to attend, the musicians were working on the ninth track. Mikhei confessed that he had rehearsed this song with a metronome at home for half a year, and when he came here Max said that he had changed the accords and did not accept any objections.
"I am not a conceptualist here, - Mikhei says half-jokingly. - They tell me what to play and I play".
The musicians plan to elaborate and present a program for no less than 40 minutes till the end of Spring. When they rehearse everything they'll start recording, although they haven't yet decided what kind of recording they want. They have a wish to make a studio concert but if this doesn't work they will make an ordinary album.
In the reality, the duet RockerJoker are obviouslyt half-shocked - they like what they have done but neither Mikhei nor Max know for sure what to do with it.
In the end of the conversation, the youngsters said something which Euroradio fairly noticed at first - they said "Probably, when the new program sees the light, no one will need the RockerJoker anymore. We are in labour now, and no one knows what will be born in the end".
