Russia stops electric power supply to Belarus totally
Belarus failed to transfer another tranche of 600 million Russian roubles to “Inter RAO ES”. Thus, the power has been switched off since 0.00, June 29.
The company's representative confirmed in an interview to RIA Novosti that electric power supply was stopped. “Inter RAO ES” is expecting the money to arrive in the nearest days.
Russia already stopped electric power supply to Belarus once, and resumed it on June 13. The debt was then 1,5 billion Russian roubles. They gave time to Belarus to pay the debt till June 22, and then prolonged it till June 27.
"Belenergo" explains this delay by impossibility to buy foreign currency.
