Statkevich is urged to plea for mercy again
The politician has written about it in a letter to his wife.
The administration of Mahilyou prison have suggested that the political prisoner should plea for mercy - after six month of silence, statkevich.org reports. Maryna Adamovich, the politician's wife, says that the offer was made in a rather cynical way. They said: "Stop playing cops and robbers, become free and go to the seaside".
Statkevich is the last ex-presidential candidate who is still in prison. Alyaksandr Lukashenka mentioned his 2010 rival at a conference on January 15. He criticized Statkevich for his TV speeches made during the pre-election campaign.
