Vadzim Zaitsau no longer head of KGB

The Belarusian President has made this decision today. Leanid Maltsau noted that the Attorney General and the head of the Investigation Committee asked a number of questions during their speeches . They concerned the recent events connected with KGB, BelTA reports. The information leak about the suicide of Alyaksandr Kazak, KGB lieutenant colonel, was among the mentioned issues.

Maltsau will be acting head of KGB now. However, it does not mean that Vadzim Zaitsau will not be able to take his position after the investigation conducted by the Attorney General and the Investigation Committee is over, he said.

Lieutenant general Vadzim Zaitsau was appointed head of KGB on July 15, 2008.
