Valery Shchukin fined for more than Br1m
The civil activist has been accused of petty hooliganism and disobedience to the police.
Orsha Court has fined him for 140 thousands for the first violation and for 1 million 50 thousands – for the second one, informs Radio “Liberty”.
Let us remind you, that Shchukin was a member of the group of journalists and human rights defenders who arrived in Orsha to support detained Anatol Lyabedzka, Syarhei Kalyakin and Alyaksandr Atroshchankau in court. Shchukin lay on the floor and blocked the court room door to express a protest against the fact that the hearing was closed.
Human rights defender Mikalai Petrushenka has informed Euroradio that Shchukin felt very bad in court because he had health problems.
