Russia, Belarus to create single visa area

Belarus and Russia will prepare an agreement on the mutual recognition of visas given to citizens of third states, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced. He said it after the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, RBK reports.
The term of receiving a residence permit will not exceed three months for Russian and Belarusian citizens, he said. The changes made to the legislation on March 2 give the citizens of the two states equal rights for travel and choosing their place of residence, Putin said.
