Hunters shoot unusual animal in Belarus

The strange animal was killed by hunters near the village of Habovichy, Kobryn District in December 2017. It was indentified with the help of a DNA test conducted by the State Legal Expertise Committee in Minsk. Officials used the international DNA database to identify what was neither a wolf nor a fox. It is a golden jackal. This is a new (82nd) species on the list of Belarus’ mammals, SB. Belarus Today reports.
