Students: We do not know candidates' stance about mandatory job placement
The early voting started on October 6.It means that Minsk students (either following their curators’ requests or just wishing to get an extra day off) are already voting.
Many of them will be assigned to work soon. Do they know what the candidates say about the compulsory assignment?
"I have not tried finding it out. I will vote for stability and peaceful sky,” BSU student Alyaksandra said. She is a future philologist studying for free. Will she be happy to get a 2-year assignment to the provinces later?
"I have not made up my mind yet, I do not know what they say about assignment. I have heard of Karatkevich but I do not know what her opinion about assignment is,” BSU student Hanna said.
For Hanna: Karatkevich wants to leave only voluntary assignment. Without any compulsion. Alyaksandr Lukashenka wants to leave the assignment as is. Mikalai Ulahovich wants the same. Syarhei Haidukevich ‘would like to change a lot’.
"My opinion about this election is philosophical. There is a woman. But there is no leader I could trust. I do not believe that they can change something. I do not care about assignment,” BSU student Katsyaryna said. She is going to vote early.
"I do not know about assignment. I like the incumbent President’s policy. I am satisfied with most things,” a future philologist told us near BSU.
His friends did not think about assignment either. He only knows the candidates’ biographies (he read them in the leaflets received by post).
Actually, none of the two dozen students we talked to cared about assignment. Most of them said: “I am satisfied with everything.” Nobody mentioned any paragraphs of the candidates’ programmes.
