Syamashka: Suppling gasoline to Russia with losses is crime

In 2016, Belarus will supply gasoline, diesel fuel and other petroleum products to Russia in accordance with applicable agreements, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka. He noted that the agreement of 29 May 2014 allows for deliveries to Russia, as long as their price will be not lower than the European price. "That is, we have the right not to deliver the goods to Russia, if for our factories these supplies will be unprofitable," said Syamashka.

As Euroradio reported, the Russian newspaper "Izvestia" wrote today that Belarus has stopped deliveries of gasoline to Russian traders. The last delivery was during the Christmas holidays. Russian analysts say that the Belarusian suppliers find it more profitable to sell their goods to the West.

Syamashka has confirmed it. He said that to date, the difference in the price of gasoline delivered from Belarus to Russia and the EU is ranging from $80 to $100. "We cannot supply petrol at a loss. It will be a crime, if we make our refineries give out their products at a price that is below cost," said Deputy Prime Minister.

At the same time, Russia has clearly fulfilled its obligations to Belarus on oil supplies.
