A sixteen-year-old singer ZENA will represent Belarus at Eurovision 2019. Her song “Like It” scored 69 out of 70 points from the jury and won by a margin in the national selection.
The contestant from Belarus was selected on the evening of March 7 during the live broadcast on the “Belarus 1” TV. This year there was no audience vote, and the burden of the decision taking was on the jury consisting of show business professionals.
ZENA performed second. After she received almost the maximum score (the only one who gave her 9 was the Belarus Composers Union chair Alena Atrashkevich), there was almost no intrigue in the competition. The second place in the selection was gained by the duet BLGN & Mirex, while Sebastian Roos from Sweden came third.
ZENA is a student of the Russian producer Viktor Drobysh. Her real name is Zina Kupryianavich. She was born on September 17, 2002 in Minsk. From early childhood she was an active child: she studied ballet, gymnastics and went to art school.
This year, the international song contest "Eurovision" will be held in Tel Aviv from 14 to 18 May.
