Tozik: No economic collapse on January 3
Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Anatol Tozik insists the economic condition of Belarusians will not deteriorate after New Year holidays.
Speaking on the Picture of the World show on RTR Belarus TV channel in the evening of December 14, Anatol Tozik said:
"The day of January 3 will be in no way any different from December 31. It might only be only better". The DPM was responding to a question from the show host about possible inflation and expectations of collapse of the Belarusian rubel by the country's population.
Talking about the prospects of the current governement in the light of Belarus president's threats to fire the cabinet if no improvement in Belarusian economy is achieved after the first quarter of 2014, Anatol Kozik said: "That would be fair". "We have to do what we can. If we fail, others will have to do it," Belapan quoted the Deputy Prime Minister as saying.
