Woman dies in White House car chase (photo, video)
A 34-year-old dental worker has been shot and killed by police agents in her car following a wild chase in D.C. as the terror motive is ruled out.
The shooting incident near the building where the US Congress works started at the White House. The police chased the car driven by a woman. Before this, she rammed into the White House gates and seriously damaged them.
During the chase, two policemen were injured - the car got in an accident. The policemen shot at the suspect but it is unknown whether she had weapons, too. The woman got killed. A 1-year-old girl was found in the car. The girl was taken into custody, her life is out of danger, RIA Novosti informs.
The woman's name was Miriam Carey. The 34-year-old American lived in Stamford, Connecticut, and worked as a dentist. According to some information, she suffered from post-labour depression.
The incident happened at the times of the contradiction between the President's Administration and the congress with regard to financing of state institutions from the budget. The Senate and the House of Representatives failed to find any compromise on the budget issue which ended in closing down of many state institutions since Tuesday.
