Yarmoshyna: election committees had a hard time due to observers
CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna has described some details of the recent presidential election on STV.
There was not much resistance to the official position of the state authorities during the election, she noted. However, the election was difficult because of ‘the total control over the work of election committees’.
"Our country has never seen so many active and well-organized observers before. The commissions that worked in big cities, especially Minsk, worked in difficult conditions. The number of observes often exceeded the number of committee members at polling stations and their relations were not always good,” Yarmoshyna announced.
