Zaika: No apocalypse as long Belarus has cheap oil
Andrei Tur is waiting "for changes in our mind", Yarmoshyna thinks that the end of the world is connected with her ex and Volski believes in "black lists".
Head of the President's Administration does not believe that the Maya end of the world will come on December 21. Nevertheless, he is sure that there is something important about the idea of the end of the world. In fact, it makes him think about the possibility of "a reload of our minds".
Andrei Tur: “I think that there is something about it! It cannot be that simple. It is like a philosophers' stone: an end is always a beginning. And we should wait for the outcome. It is essential that something should change in our minds."
CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna is sure that the fact that the end of the world is supposed to be on December 21 is not a mere coincidence.
Lidziya Yarmoshyna: “There is something about it! My first husband was born on December 21. I do not think that the Maya chose the day without any good reason!"
The leader of the Movement "For Freedom" Alyaksandr Milinkevich warns: the end of the world will come... The sun will become dim one day! However, the politician thinks that the apocalypse of December 21, 2012 can be explained by the fact that the Maya got tired of carving their calendar in stone. And it "ended". And people inclined to believe in fairy-tales have joined this "apocalypse" game eagerly.
Alyaksandr Milinkevich: “People hope that somebody will take decisions for them: that something will punish them and bring happiness. I think that Belarusians lack self-responsibility. People are responsible for their families but they do not feel that we are part of one big family."
While Belarus has access to cheap Russian oil, people should not worry about any end of the world, economist Leanid Zaika said. However, various astrophysical processes can make you worry.
Leanid Zaika: “I had better buy a small flat in the mountains in Bulgaria, bring food and water there and wait for the end of the world smoking the hookah. It would be clever. But I was too lazy to do so. That is why I am lying on my sofa at home like all Belarusians. I am waiting for oil to be delivered to Mazyr oil-processing plant and then I will be able to go out and buy some small pies."
Lyavon Volski is sad because his project "Sauka and Hryshka" is over - they could compose so many songs about the end of the world!
Lyavon Volski: “There could be two songs before and two songs - after the end of the world. Or even more! The topic may be fruitful for the social and political cabaret but not for songs that would live longer than a few weeks or years..."
The idea of the end of the world could drive musicians addicted to drugs crazy, thinks Lyavon. However, it cannot happen to Belarusian rock musicians. They have had so many ends of the world described in "black lists" that they are not afraid of the ancient Indians' prediction!
