16:01 Belarus women stage picket in Kiev
Several Belarusian women on Friday staged a picket in front of the Belarus Embassy to Ukraine to protest the prosecution of their husbands or relatives on criminal or administrative charges. The women unfolded posters, demanding the resignation of the Belarus's Prosecutor General and the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus. The picket participants stressed the protest had no political implication.
The women came by their own will and for their own money. They said no political party was taking use of them. The Belarusian women failed to receive a fair justice back home. They want legitimate and legally motivated rulings on the cases of their relatives.
Since they were not granted permission to stage a picket in Minsk, the women are trying to draw attention of the public in Kiev, where Lukashenka is scheduled to pay soon an official visit.
