3500 Belarus kids travel to UK annually on rehabilitation programs
Almost 3500 children from the Belarusian regions, affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident, come to Britain annually. The summer-break tours are organized by British charitable organizations, British Ambassador in Minsk Nigel Gould-Davis told reporters in the Belarusian capital. All the children, traveling on rehabilitation programs, are issued free visas. In September 2007, the British embassy developped a unique project to collect biometric data of the chidlren in the regions, affected by the radiation, so that they don't have to come to Minsk for this procedure, Ambassador said.
