8 thousand Ukrainian soldiers joined separatists
The Ukraine servicemen who joined the separatists will face responsibility by the ATO office of the public prosecutor to be established soon.
The Ukrainian military procurator's office has a list of 8 thousand Ukrainian policemen and servicemen who have joined separatists, the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty reports. There is a full list of the people, evidence is being collected against 5 thousand policemen and about 3 thousand servicemen, chief military prosecutor Anatol Matios said.
Facts of policemen switching sides in ‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’ get reported from time to time. 8 policemen joined separatists in June, Donetsk Oblast police chief Vyacheslav Abroskin reported. Six policemen from Yanakiyevsk will stand trial in absentia on July 29.
An ATO office of the public prosecutor will be created in Ukraine to deal with the investigation of criminal cases in Lugansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporozhye Oblasts, Anatol Matias told UNIAN.
