Agreement on NPP construction to be signed with Russia in February
An intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the Belarusian NPP may be signed with Russia in February. The deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus Mihail Mihadyuk has informed about it during an on-line conference on the website of BelTA.
Mihadzyuk has reminded that Belarus and Russia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Speaking about the contract, he said that they were working on the documents and discussing the issues of the plant’s construction. In Mihadzyuk’s opinion, the general contract will be signed in the first half of 2010. “The general contract is a document depicting everything in detail including technical specification”, - he explained.
The deputy Minister has also informed that Russia is not against giving a credit for the construction of the NPP. The credit is planned to be used for the plant’s construction and the creation of its infrastructure.
