All 11 contenders submit documents to CEC
All the 11 contenders have submitted the documents for registration as candidates for President to the Central Election Commission. The CEC Secretary Mikalaj Lazavik has informed BelaPAN that the following contenders have filed the documents for registration: the BPF Vice-Chairman Ryhor Kastusyou, the current head of the State Aliaksandr Lukashenka, the head of the "For Modernization" union Ales Mikhalevich, the leader of the civil campaign "Tell the Truth!" Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, the Vice -Chairman of the United Civic Party Jaraslau Ramanchuk, the Co-Chairman of the steering committee for creating the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Vital Rymasheuski, the leader of the campaign "European Belarus" Andrej Sannikau, the Chairman of the steering committee for creating the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (People's Assembly) Mikalaj Statkevich, the economist Viktar Tsiareshchanka and the director of the enterprise "Trivium" Dzmitry Us.
The individual entrepreneur from Vitsebsk Uladzimir Pravalski has also filed the documents for registration. However, as it was stated before by the CEC Secretary Mikalaj Lazavik, Pravalski had no chance to be registered as a candidate as he had failed to collect the necessary quantity of signatures.
Presidential contenders are supposed to submit their written agreements to run for President, biographical quetionnaires and income and property statements no later than November 13 inclusively.
The Central Election Commission will conduct registration of candidates for President on November 14-23. According to Lazavik, they are most likely to do that on November 18.
