Angela Merkel: Britain may secede from EU
The German Chancellor would rather see Great Britain leave the EU than reach a compromise in the free labour market issue, Spiegel reports.
Merkel is afraid that the UK is approaching ‘the point of no return’ in its relations with the EU, the edition reports.
The British PM has not commented on the information yet. David Cameron would like to reconsider the terms of the UK’s membership in the EU before conducting a referendum concerning this issue. London is dissatisfied with the great influx of migrants from the other European countries and would like to introduce quotas for plain workers, BBC notes.
Germany has already rejected David Cameron’s suggestion, The Sunday Times reports. Cameron is trying to forbid European labour migrants to enter the country unless they have a job, Spiegel notes. He would like to deport those who cannot afford living in the UK for 3 months.
