April 2 - International Children's Book Day
Jury Ustsinovich's children's book "Yaska and his horse Hryuka" will be presented today in Vitsebsk by the civil campaign "Let's be Belarusians".
Since 1967, on or around Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, 2 April, International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books, upon the initiative of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).
Special events and celebrations are held on this day throughout the world: children's and youngsters' book week, contests, exhibitions, festiveals, dedicated to the best books of the world. This is the way the organizers underline the eternal role of a children's book in formation of the new generations' spiritual and intellectual image.
Jury Ustsinovich's children's book "Yaska and his horse Hryuka" will be presented today in Vitsebsk by the civil campaign "Let's be Belarusians".
